Design and Implementation of a Hospital Ward Management System for Healthcare Facilities
Computer Science — 2024, Undergraduate
This study designed and implemented a Hospital Ward Management System to address the inefficiencies in managing patient admissions, bed allocation, and ward records in healthcare facilities. The manual approach was prone to errors, delays, and poor coordination among medical staff. The system allows staff to register patients, allocate beds, manage ward capacity, and track admission records. Built with Python Django and SQLite, the system was evaluated for functionality and usability with hospital staff. The findings revealed improved bed management, reduced admission processing time, and better availability of patient information. The study recommends adoption of the system to support efficient ward and bed management.
