Design and Implementation of a Supply Chain Management System for Manufacturing Firms
Computer Science — 2024, Undergraduate
This study designed and implemented a Supply Chain Management System to coordinate the movement of materials and finished goods in manufacturing firms. Fragmented manual tracking of suppliers, orders, and inventory leads to inefficiencies, delays, and stockouts. The system manages suppliers, purchase orders, inventory levels, and delivery tracking, providing stakeholders with a centralised view of the supply chain. Built with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, the system was evaluated with supply chain staff. The findings revealed improved coordination, reduced lead times, and better inventory visibility. The study recommends adoption of the system to support efficient and responsive supply chain operations.
