This study investigates effect of Deforestation on Bird Diversity in a Forest Reserve. Using a survey research design, data were collected from 194 fishers in the study area. Findings reveal that bird species richness is markedly lower in deforested compartments than in intact forest The study recommends integration of indigenous knowledge into conservation programmes
