This study assesses habitat Studies in the School Compound in rural secondary schools in Benin City. A descriptive survey design was employed and data were gathered from 330 principals in rural secondary schools in Benin City. Findings reveal that compound mapping teaches habitats cheaply The study recommends use of activity-based and improvisation methods in science lessons
