This study assesses history of Railway Transport and Its Decline in Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was employed and data were gathered from 268 residents in the study area. Findings reveal that neglect of rail infrastructure followed policy shifts towards road transport The study recommends documentation and preservation of oral and material heritage
