Influence of Nollywood Films on the Moral Values of Nigerian Youths

This study examined the influence of Nollywood films on the moral values of Nigerian youths. A descriptive survey was conducted among undergraduates who are regular viewers of Nigerian films using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The findings revealed that exposure to themes such as wealth pursuit, rituals, and revenge portrayed in some films influenced the attitudes and aspirations of young viewers, while family and positive cultural themes reinforced desirable values. The study recommends conscious and responsible scripting, parental and stakeholder guidance, and a strengthened regulatory framework for film content.
