Perceptions of Nurses on Evidence-Based Practice Implementation in Nigeria

This study examined the perceptions of nurses about the implementation of evidence-based practice in Nigerian hospitals. A descriptive survey was conducted with nurses across selected facilities using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that nurses generally held positive attitudes towards evidence-based practice, but implementation was constrained by limited research skills, heavy workload, and poor access to evidence resources. The study observed that practice was largely guided by habit and institutional routines. It recommends research training, mentorship, and organisational support for evidence use.
