Teaching Map Reading with Local Area Maps

This study assesses teaching Map Reading with Local Area Maps in urban secondary schools in Yenagoa. A descriptive survey design was employed and data were gathered from 157 teachers in urban secondary schools in Yenagoa. Findings reveal that local maps beat atlases for direction skills The study recommends provision of maps, charts and audiovisual materials to schools
