Assessment of Curriculum Changes on Teaching Practices in Secondary Schools

Educational Management2025, Undergraduate

This study assessed the effect of curriculum changes on teaching practices in secondary schools in Nigeria. A structured questionnaire was administered to teachers and education officers following major curriculum revisions. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that curriculum changes influenced lesson planning, instructional methods, and assessment practices, with teachers adapting slowly where training and materials were inadequate. The study observed frequent policy shifts that disrupted implementation. It recommends consultative curriculum reviews, timely teacher training, and provision of supporting materials.
