Comparative Evaluation of Resource Management in Public and Private Secondary Schools

Educational Management2025, Undergraduate

This study compared resource management practices in public and private secondary schools in Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted with questionnaires administered to school heads and bursars in both sectors. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and comparative tests. The findings revealed that private schools demonstrated more efficient budgeting, fee administration, and facility maintenance, while public schools faced constraints of bureaucracy and funding delays. The study observed that both sectors struggled with staff and material management. It recommends adoption of efficient financial practices and strengthened accountability in public schools.
