Effect of School Resources on Students' Academic Performance in Public Secondary Schools

Educational Management2025, Undergraduate

This study examined the effect of school resources on students' academic performance in public secondary schools in Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted with questionnaires administered to teachers, students, and administrators. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that the availability and quality of textbooks, laboratories, libraries, and instructional technology significantly influenced academic performance, while resource scarcity constrained teaching and learning. The study observed inequitable resource distribution among schools. It recommends needs-based resource allocation, maintenance culture, and investment in instructional materials.
