Design and Implementation of an Intelligent Tutoring System for Secondary School Mathematics

This study designed and implemented an Intelligent Tutoring System for Secondary School Mathematics that provides step-by-step guidance and personalised feedback to learners. The shortage of qualified mathematics teachers and large class sizes limit individual attention. The system presents problems, evaluates learner responses, and offers tailored hints and remediation. Built with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, the system was evaluated with students and teachers. Findings revealed improved problem-solving skills and greater learner confidence. The study recommends integration of the tutoring system into classroom instruction and periodic expansion of the problem bank.
