Effect of Gender-Sensitive Management on Female Student Retention in Nigerian Schools

This study examined the effect of gender-sensitive management practices on female student retention in Nigerian schools. A structured questionnaire was administered to school administrators, teachers, and female students. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that policies addressing safety, hygiene facilities, mentoring, and flexible arrangements significantly improved the enrolment and retention of female students, particularly in rural areas. The study found that socio-cultural factors and early marriage remained challenges. It recommends gender-responsive school management, safe school environments, and community engagement.
