Effect of Simulation-Based Training on the Clinical Competence of Nursing Students

This study examined the effect of simulation-based training on the clinical competence of nursing students in Nigeria. A quasi-experimental approach was adopted comparing students trained with simulation and those trained through traditional methods. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and comparative tests. The findings revealed that simulation-based training significantly improved students' skills, confidence, and clinical decision-making in a safe learning environment, particularly for high-risk procedures. The study observed that equipment and faculty constraints limited adoption. It recommends investment in simulation laboratories and faculty development.
