Effectiveness of Public Policy Implementation in Nigeria
Political Science — 2025, Undergraduate
This study assessed the effectiveness of public policy implementation in Nigeria. A mixed-methods approach combining documentary analysis with questionnaires administered to civil servants and policy stakeholders was adopted. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that inadequate funding, weak institutional capacity, corruption, and poor coordination significantly undermined the achievement of policy objectives, with gaps between policy design and delivery. The study observed that policy evaluation was neglected. It recommends results-based implementation frameworks, strengthened monitoring and evaluation, and accountability measures.
