Impact of Electronic Records Management on Administrative Efficiency in Government Ministries
Public Administration — 2024, Undergraduate
This study investigated the impact of electronic records management on administrative efficiency in selected government ministries in Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, with data collected from 340 records and administrative officers through a structured questionnaire. The findings revealed that the adoption of electronic records management systems has improved the speed of records retrieval, reduced the loss of files, and enhanced the security and integrity of official information, although migration challenges, inadequate infrastructure, and limited staff skills persist. A statistically significant relationship was established between electronic records management and administrative efficiency. The study recommends investment in robust records management software, comprehensive staff training, and the development of clear digital records policies.
