Influence of Electronic Commerce Adoption on the Growth of Retail Businesses in Nigeria
Business Administration — 2025, Undergraduate
This study investigated the influence of electronic commerce (e-commerce) adoption on the growth of retail businesses in Nigeria. A survey of owners and managers of online and offline retail outlets was conducted using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that e-commerce adoption significantly expanded market reach, reduced transaction costs, and improved order management for retailers. However, poor logistics, digital payment challenges, and low consumer trust limited adoption. The study recommends improved digital infrastructure, secure payment systems, and retail capacity building in e-commerce operations.
