Influence of Intelligence Coordination on National Security in Nigeria
Political Science — 2025, Undergraduate
This study investigated the influence of intelligence coordination on national security in Nigeria. A descriptive survey was conducted with intelligence officers, security analysts, and academics using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that effective information sharing and inter-agency coordination significantly enhanced threat detection and response, while duplication, bureaucracy, and political interference weakened intelligence effectiveness. The study observed improved coordination drives in recent reforms. It recommends institutionalised coordination, professional training, and clear oversight frameworks.
