Influence of Nutritional Interventions on Childhood Malnutrition in Nigeria
Nursing Science — 2025, Undergraduate
This study investigated the influence of nutritional interventions on childhood malnutrition in Nigeria. A survey was conducted with mothers and health workers using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that nutrition education, supplementation, and therapeutic feeding significantly improved the nutritional status and growth of malnourished children, while inconsistent support and poor follow-up limited recovery. The study observed that food insecurity and repeated infections contributed to malnutrition. It recommends sustained nutrition programmes, caregiver education, and integrated care.
