Influence of Student Discipline Management on School Climate in Secondary Schools

This study investigated the influence of student discipline management on school climate in secondary schools in Nigeria. A structured questionnaire was administered to teachers, students, and administrators. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that consistent, fair, and positive discipline approaches fostered a safe and orderly school climate, while harsh and inconsistent punishments were associated with tension and indiscipline. The study observed rising concerns over indiscipline and violence in some schools. It recommends positive discipline frameworks, stakeholder involvement, and counselling-based interventions.
