Influence of Trade Unionism on Employee-Employer Relations in Nigeria

Law2025, Undergraduate

This study investigated the influence of trade unionism on employee-employer relations in Nigeria. A descriptive survey was conducted with union officials, human resource managers, and workers using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that collective bargaining and structured union consultation improved dialogue, grievance handling, and workplace stability, while adversarial industrial actions disrupted operations where dialogue failed. The study observed fluctuating union influence across sectors. It recommends constructive social dialogue, robust dispute resolution, and respect for freedom of association.
