Assessment of Supply Chain Flexibility on the Competitiveness of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Companies
Business Administration — 2025, Undergraduate
This study assessed the effect of supply chain flexibility on the competitiveness of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in Nigeria. A survey was conducted with supply chain and logistics managers of selected companies. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that supplier flexibility, responsive distribution networks, and agile planning significantly improved service levels and time-to-market. The study, however, found that infrastructural bottlenecks and volatile prices undermined flexibility benefits. It recommends investment in logistics capacity, closer supplier collaboration, and adoption of digital tools for real-time supply chain visibility.
