Development of a Web-Based Database Activity Monitoring and Audit System
Cyber Security — 2025, Undergraduate
This study developed a web-based database activity monitoring and audit system that captures query logs, flags unusual access patterns, and maintains audit trails for compliance. Analysts can review sessions and generate audit reports. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. The findings showed that the system improved detection of suspicious database activity and simplified audit reporting, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends integration with production databases.
