Development of a Mobile Application Security Scanning and Reporting System
Cyber Security — 2025, Undergraduate
This study developed a mobile application security scanning and reporting system that checks app metadata and manifests against insecure practices, insecure storage, and weak permissions, and produces vendor-style reports. The platform tracks findings and fixes. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. The findings showed that the system accelerated mobile app review cycles and improved report quality, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends use in mobile development teams.
