Development of a Web-Based Vital Statistics Reporting System
Statistics — 2025, Undergraduate
This study developed a web-based vital statistics reporting system that enables health and registry officers to record births and deaths and generate periodic statistical reports. The system enforces validation rules, reduces duplicate records, and produces disaggregated summaries by location and age. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Node.js, Express, React, and MySQL. The findings showed that the system improved completeness and timeliness of vital records, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends linking the system to civil registration authorities for national reporting.
