Effect of Agricultural Policies on Food Production in Nigeria

Agricultural Economics2025, Undergraduate

This study examined the effect of agricultural policies on food production in Nigeria. Policy documents and production data were analysed together with questionnaire responses from farmers and policy stakeholders. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that input support, import policies, and price policies influenced production incentives and food output, with inconsistent policy design and implementation limiting their impact. The study observed that policy instability discouraged long-term investment. It recommends coherent, stable, and well-funded agricultural policy frameworks.
