Effect of Rural Infrastructure on Agricultural Output in Nigeria
Agricultural Economics — 2025, Undergraduate
This study examined the effect of rural infrastructure on agricultural output in Nigeria. A structured questionnaire was administered to farmers in areas with varying levels of infrastructure. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that rural roads, storage facilities, and market access significantly influenced production, post-harvest management, and farm incomes by reducing costs and losses. The study found that infrastructure deficits in rural areas constrained output expansion. It recommends investment in rural infrastructure and maintenance of existing facilities.
