Design and Implementation of a Campus Network Security Monitoring System
Cyber Security — 2025, Undergraduate
This study designed and implemented a campus network security monitoring system that aggregates device status, bandwidth usage, and security events across buildings. The platform presents real-time dashboards and drifts alerts for anomalies. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. The findings showed that the system improved central visibility of network health and reduced incident detection latency, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends deployment in university ICT directorates.
