Design of a Secure Password Management System with OTP Verification
Cyber Security — 2025, Undergraduate
This study designed a secure password management system that stores credentials hashed with bcrypt and adds one-time password verification for high-risk actions. The system enforces password policy, logs access, and supports recovery workflows. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. The findings showed that the system improved credential safety and reduced the risk of account compromise, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends adoption by departmental IT units.
