Development of a Digital Evidence Collection and Reporting System
Cyber Security — 2025, Undergraduate
This study developed a digital evidence collection and reporting system that records evidence handling, hash values, and custody transfers in an auditable chain. The system guides investigators through acquisition steps and generates formal reports. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Python, Flask, and SQLite. The findings showed that the system improved the integrity and defensibility of evidence records, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends use by cybercrime and institutional investigative teams.
