Agricultural Economics — 2025, Undergraduate
This study conducted an economic valuation of soil conservation practices on farm productivity in Nigeria. A structured questionnaire was administered to farmers adopting and not adopting conservation practices. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that practices such as terracing, mulching, and manure application increased yields and reduced production risk, yielding positive returns on investment. The study found that awareness and initial labour requirements limited adoption. It recommends extension support, demonstration plots, and incentives for conservation adoption.
