Effect of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems on Decision-Making in Manufacturing Organisations
Business Administration — 2025, Undergraduate
This study examined the effect of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems on decision-making in manufacturing organisations in Nigeria. A descriptive survey was conducted with managers involved in budgeting, production, and inventory planning. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings revealed that ERP systems improved data accuracy, integration of departments, and the timeliness of management reports, thereby supporting better decision-making. High implementation costs, change resistance, and inadequate training were, however, major challenges. The study recommends phased implementation, robust change management, and continuous user training to maximise ERP benefits.
