Business Administration — 2025, Undergraduate
This study examined the influence of strategic management practices on the competitive performance of manufacturing firms in Lagos, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted and a structured questionnaire was administered to managers of selected manufacturing companies. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The findings revealed that strategic planning, environmental scanning, and competitive positioning significantly and positively influenced firm performance. Weak implementation discipline and inadequate top management commitment were, however, identified as common obstacles. The study recommends full integration of strategic management into the corporate culture and continuous monitoring of the external environment.
