Development of a Web-Based UML Diagram Editing and Collaboration Platform

Software Engineering2025, Undergraduate

web applicationcollaborationUMLdiagram editing

This study developed a web-based UML diagram editing and collaboration platform that lets teams draw class, sequence, and use-case diagrams together with live commenting and version history. The platform exports diagram images for documentation. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using JavaScript, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. The findings showed that the platform improved collaborative design and reduced rework in documentation, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends adoption in software engineering courses and teams.
