Development of an IT Control and Compliance Audit System

This study developed an IT control and compliance audit system that maps audit checklists to business processes, records evidence and ratings, and computes control effectiveness scores. The system tracks findings and remediation owners. Adopting a client-server architecture and a survey-based usability evaluation, the system was built using Python, Flask, and SQLite. The findings showed that the system standardised audits and improved follow-through on findings, while achieving a high System Usability Scale score. The study recommends adoption by internal audit units.
